Cub Scout Pack 509

Are you looking for an activity that brings the whole family together while helping your child build confidence, leadership skills, and lifelong friendships? Cub Scout Pack 509 welcomes new families for another year of outdoor adventures, hands-on learning, and unforgettable memories.

The fun begins with our back-to-school ice cream social, at 6 p.m. on Friday, September 11, at the Loma Prieta Playfield Gazebo. Families can meet current scouts, learn about the program, and enjoy a sweet treat together. Throughout the year, scouts will participate in exciting activities including archery and BB gun shooting at the Camp Chesebrough Scout Reservation, an overnight camping adventure on the Santa Cruz Boardwalk, our annual rocket launch, the always-popular Pinewood Derby, a family beach day, and a family campout.

Our annual snack shack at the Summit Christmas Tree Farm has become a favorite local tradition. It helps raise funds that support special scouting experiences such as overnight adventures aboard the USS Hornet and at Chabot Space and Science Center.

Families also enjoy events like our Blue and Gold Banquet in March, or pumpkin carving at the Lakeside School Harvest Festival on Sunday, October 25. Cub Scouting is about much more than earning badges. It’s an opportunity for boys and girls in kindergarten through fifth grades to discover new interests, serve their community, and create lasting memories with their families.

Join us at our back-to-school ice cream social and discover why cub scouting continues to be a great family adventure in our mountain
