The final weeks of the school year buzzed with excitement at Lakeside. Many families brought their blankets and lawn chairs for a family movie night under the stars. They enjoyed delicious tacos prepared by the Agrillo family, concessions sold by the fifth- graders to raise money for science camp, and a free screening of Toy Story.

At our annual Read-A-Thon, students logged more than 11,100 minutes of reading in one week. Thanks to the generous pledges of friends, families, and neighbors, our young readers raised about $12,000. This event celebrates the joy of reading and raises crucial funds to support important programs like science, art, and physical education that nurture their creativity and growth.

The spirit of spring was alive and well on May Day as students, families, and staff gathered for the school’s much-anticipated celebration. This cherished tradition brings joy, color, and community spirit to school each year.

The students, with their heads adorned with flower crowns, performed songs and dances to welcome the return of spring. They watched and learned traditional English folk dancing from a group of Morris Dancers. The highlight, as always, was the fifth-grade Maypole dance. With ribbons in hand, the students wove an intricate pattern around the pole, a time- honored ritual that dates back generations at Lakeside School.
