It’s been a busy, fun-filled fall at Lakeside School. In late September, families gathered for the Lakeside School Community Foundation’s first family movie night of the year. Families and neighbors enjoyed a delicious taco dinner, with all proceeds (more than $350) supporting fifth-grade science camp. Then they settled in to watch The Super Mario Galaxy Movie outdoors, under the stars.
On a hot day in early October, Lakeside students, staff, and family members surfed through Lakeside’s “Raccoons Ride the Waves” walk-a-thon. Our students ran laps to raise money for the LSCF, which helps fund science, art, counseling, technology, the garden program, music, dance, physical education, and teacher supplies.
Thank you to the volunteers who made this year’s Walk-a-thon a great event. Their time and enthusiasm created a fun and memorable experience for everyone. We are also grateful to our families, sponsors, and community members who supported the Walk-a-Thon through their generous donations.
Our TK and kindergarten classes enjoyed a visit to Mason- Taylor Ranch on Summit Road. Students were greeted by the scent of apples in the air. The morning started with a brief introduction to the different varieties of apples grown at the farm. Students explored the orchards, tasting apples freshly twisted from the branches.
In late October, we welcomed the community to campus to celebrate the fall season at our annual Harvest Festival. Attendees enjoyed bounce houses, a petting zoo, pony rides, pumpkin carving, delicious pizza from Pizzeria Vittoria, and more. It was hard to tell who had more fun, the children or the adults. We thank the community members who showed up.
